New places to pause

June 12, 2026

To enhance visitor experience and accessibility, through the generous donations of our community, FOSB recently acquired twelve (12) new benches and seven (7) new tables which have been installed throughout the park. These simple places to pause make the park more welcoming while helping visitors slow down and notice the life around them. We have also launched monthly interpretive programs designed to educate and inspire park visitors.

FOSB extends its sincere thanks to those who make our work possible:

  • District 3 Supervisor Rich Desmond and Liz Bellas (Director of Regional Parks), for their continuous guidance and unwavering support of Sailor Bar.
  • The Sacramento Regional Parks Maintenance Staff, whose daily hard work keeps the park clean, safe, and beautiful for everyone.

The benches and tables were dedicated on March 18, 2026; see the dedication ceremony.
